Solar panels convert sunlight to electricity and provide clean, renewable, limitless energy.
Going Solar is easy
You may qualify for a financing lease from Solar Scotia Energy on a system for your home at a rate of 3.5% over a 10 year term. At the end of the lease, you can buy the system out for a $50 fee to transfer ownership and continue to generate electricity for the remaining life of the system – an additional 15 to 20 years.More details
Invest in a CEDIF
As a Community Economic Development Investment Fund (CEDIF), Solar Scotia Energy is a community initiative rather than a Main Street commercial bank, so you would be receiving community-sourced financing from a local Nova Scotian company: Think Local!
Investments in CEDIFs can be from your current RRSP holdings or through a new RRSP investment and may be eligible for Provincial Equity tax credits against your NS Income Taxes Payable, with 35% of the amount of your investment available as a credit in the first year, and up to 65% of your investment over the longer term, if the CEDIF meets certain conditions. If it’s through a new investment, you may be eligible to receive the regular tax deductions from an RRSP contribution.Learn more
