2019 at SKYLIT – The Year in Review

How was your 2019?

At SKYLIT we had an outstanding year, and we really want to thank our customers for taking the journey with us!

From re-branding in January, to expanding our fabulous team, to winning the AVCC Outstanding Small Business of the year in November, we had lots to celebrate. We’re usually pretty humble but we feel a little bragging is in order, so here is 2019 by the numbers:

We installed 2115 Solar Panels across Nova Scotia in 2019, for a total of 718.6 kW, which will generate about 800,000kWh of electricity annually.

This diverts about 624 tons of carbon from the atmosphere each year, which is equivalent to:
-taking 120 cars off the road, or
-not burning 623,000 pounds of coal, or
-not using 1,300 barrels of oil, or
-planting 739 acres of forest
EVERY YEAR!

These systems will last about 30 years, making a significant environmental impact in their lifespan. And that’s just in one year. Add that to the 540.5kW of solar we’ve installed previously and our annual carbon offset is nearly 1,100 tonnes. Given that we know we’re in a climate crisis that will take major change to mitigate, this is certainly something we can all be proud of.
